Rev. Daniel Reed

Daniel was raised at Rainbow Woods, a solar-powered farm in the wilder parts of the north end of the Kawartha Lakes. He cut firewood, hung laundry, and worried about cloudy days.

He did a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies at McGill University and then a Masters of Divinity at Emmanuel College. He was ordained in June of 2019.

He has served Willowdale-Emmanuel United Church, Thornhill United Church, Fairlawn Avenue United Church, and St. Mark’s United Church.

He is a currently a member of the Executive of Shining Waters Regional Council, the Indigenous Justice Advisory Group of the United Church of Canada, and the Church Development and Leadership Committee of the Toronto United Church Council.

Daniel lives in the Annex with his wife (Miriam), their dog (Amka), and a revolving cast of friends and relations. He gardens and rock-climbs, tries to meditate every day, and camps when he can.
