Membership with Us
Membership with Kimbourne Park United Church (KPUC) includes a formal commitment to the community of faith. We seek to care for each other like a second family and we hope to share the wide embrace of God’s love to all who enter. The church’s commitment to members and adherents is to provide a sense of belonging, a safer space to come as you are, provide pastoral care and spiritual support as well as social justice and learning opportunities.
If you are seeking a membership at KPUC you can expect these things:
Deeper Connection: Membership signifies a deeper involvement in the church community and a sense of belonging.
Active Involvement: Encouragement to participate in committees, tasks, and other aspects of the church's life.
Stewardship: A component of stewardship for the church's resources.
Eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors, Trustees etc.
The expectation of attending the Annual Congregational Meeting (each year)
The expectation of voting in Board Member elections (held during the ACBM)
The expectation of voting in the election of a new Minister, when necessary
At KPUC baptism is not required for membership, however we want to hear if you’d like to be baptized should you not be. You will join the church through a formal ceremony during a regular worship service, where you pledge to be part of the congregation and support its mission. This is called a Profession of Faith.
We ask that potential members:
Join in worship, events and activities regularly
Share gifts, skills and talents by volunteering as they are able
Are ready to make a long-term commitment to KPUC
Financially contribute to KPUC as they are able
Are in general agreement with KPUC core values and beliefs
Any person is welcome to identify as part of KPUC faith community and participate in the life and work of our community of faith. The name for this is an Adherent which means you’re not ready or sure about being a member. You still should know you are welcome to be in community to receive:
